The Half Century Nunatak is a distinctive nunatak with an east-facing and high rock step in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains, it rises 6 km north of the Dismal Buttress massif on the western flank of the upper section of the Shackleton Glacier .

The southern group of a campaign carried out from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first reaching of the geographic South Pole by the Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen .
