Hallands Väderö is an island off Torekov on the Bjäre Peninsula in Skåne län in Sweden . The first part of its name refers to the neighboring historic province of Halland , to which the island never belonged. The island, which has been a nature reserve since 1958, is particularly known as a destination for nature and bird lovers . There is an opportunity to see a colony of seals up close. There is also a small nature museum.
The different habitats of this island offer a variety of animal and plant species and different landscapes like sandy beaches and cliffs , alder swamps and white anemones carpets in the old deciduous forest, barren Klapperstein fields and meadows.
The entire island belongs to the Torekovs församling (parish Toreskov) in the Church of Sweden .
