Halltorps hage (Eng. Halltorps Hain ) is a nature reserve on the west coast of the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Öland .
The nature reserve comprises a forest area made up of remains of a primeval forest that originally ran along the west coast of the island. In total, it has an area of 200 hectares, but 56 hectares are a body of water belonging to Kalmarsund . The name Halltorps hage is derived from the nearby village of Halltorp .
Halltorps hage is characterized by the unusually old trees. Due to the long-term function as a royal hunting area in connection with Borgholm Castle further north , the tree population was able to develop undisturbed. Many centuries-old oaks can be found today . The partly dead and holey trees also serve as a habitat for rare insect species.
