Hallur Ellingsgaard

Hallur Ellingsgaard (born May 11, 1952 in Klaksvík / Faroe Islands ) is a Faroese teacher, textbook author and party leader of the Republican Party ( Tjóðveldisflokkurin ).

Hallur Ellingsgaard was elected on April 1, 2005 at the party conference in Sumba as the new party leader of the Republicans striving for state sovereignty. He replaced Jóannes Dalsgarð , who did not run again due to lack of time.

Ellingsgaard is largely unknown abroad. He has been a member of the party for about 20 years and was its district chairman on Eysturoy . At the same time he sat for them in Oyndafjørður in the local council, of which he was also chairman.
