Hamad Amar

Hamad Amar ( Hebrew חמד עמאר; Arabic حمد عمار; Born November 5, 1964 in Israel ) is an Israeli Druze politician who is currently a member of the Knesset for the nationalist party Jisra'el Beitenu .

biography

Amar did his military service between 1982 and 1986 in the Israel Defense Forces . He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Safed College and later studied law. He acted as an assistant to Avigdor Lieberman while he was Minister for National Infrastructure. In 1998 he was elected to the Shefar'am City Council in northern Israel. He founded and heads the Druze youth organization, and is also chairman of the Martial Arts Association in Israel.

Prior to the Israeli parliamentary elections in 2009 , he was ranked 12th in Jisra'el Beitenu's list and became a member of the Knesset after his party won 15 seats. According to Amar, the controversial slogan of his party, “No citizenship without loyalty”, is natural for the Druze community.

Amar lives in the al-Fuar district in Shefar'am, is married and has three children.
