Hamdi Şensoy
Hamdi Şensoy (* in Xanthi ) is a Turkish architect.
Şensoy graduated from elementary school in Xanthi. In 1940 he passed the state examination at the Turkish Consulate General in Komotini, and then went to high school in Edirne . Since Edirne was evacuated for safety reasons during the Second World War, he completed his training in Sivas . In 1952 he completed his architecture studies at the Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi (MSÜ). In 1955 he became an assistant at Sedad Hakkı Eldem at the same university. In 1970 he was awarded the title of professor. Şensoy later became the dean of the architecture faculty at his home university. He still teaches in the MSÜ project workshop to this day.
In addition to his academic career, he runs his architectural office called Hamdi Şensoy Mimarlık, founded in 1952 .
In 2006 he received the Mimar Sinan Architecture Prize.
