Hammer Bridge (Schwarzenberg)

In Schwarzenberg, between the districts of Neuwelt and Sachsenfeld , the wooden Hammerbrücke crosses the Schwarzwasser and connects the two districts with one another. It is completely covered and is one of the few structures of this type in Saxony . It was built in 1732 and is a listed building .

The construction consists of a simple suspension with two hanging columns and three struts. On one of the boarded long sides, window openings offer a view of the black water flowing below. It is 21.5 meters long and 3 meters wide. At both entrances, concrete planters prevent cars from passing through.

In 1992, it was restored according to the requirements of the monument. The roof was faithfully covered with wooden shingles again.
