John Kenneth Small (* 20th November 1946 in Lumberton , North Carolina ; † 10. December 2012 in Augusta , Georgia ) was an American American football poker players on the position of linebackers in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions .

Early years

Small grew up in his hometown and later practiced college football at The Citadel military college . Small was inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988.

NFL

Small was selected twelfth in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1970 NFL Draft . After three years with the Falcons, he moved to the Detroit Lions , where he stayed for two more years. Then he ended his professional career.
