Hammerhütte (Siegen)

Hammerhütte was a medieval suburb of the then Nassau city ​​of Siegen . The place arose around the blowhouse of the same name. The Hammerhütte was mentioned in a document on July 28, 1471. On this day, Hermann Illequat (Hermann von Hupsdorf, Nassau rent master) pledged the Hammerhütte to Count Johann IV of Nassau in addition to houses and parts of his property . In 1798 there were 41 houses in Hammerhütte. In 1834 there were 290 people in the Hammerhütte district. Today Hammerhütte is a quarter of the district town of Siegen in the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein , in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
