Hammerschmiedesee

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hammerschmiedeseen are reservoirs near Pommertsweiler , a suburb of Abtsgmünd in the Swabian-Franconian Forest in Baden-Württemberg .

They were artificially created for the operation of hammer smiths in the 18th century; for this, the young Bühler was dammed with earth dams 3 to 5 m high.

At the lakes there is a campsite with around 100 temporary and around 160 permanent spaces, as well as an inn .

Others

On Monday, August 19, 2013, the reservoir became the scene of a violent storm in which a tornado devastated a tent camp and injured 27 people, some seriously.
