Hand mark

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hand marks are mostly order words, letters or numbers attached to the front cut of the book , printed in stages. They are usually colored and make it easier to find the places you are looking for, especially in reference works .

The hand mark should not be confused with the thumb index , but is often also referred to as the thumb index ( English chapter thumbs ).
