Hanisch Harbor ( called Hänischhafen in German colonial times ) is a bay on the north coast of Huongolf in the east of the island of New Guinea . It is located in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea .
The bay is bounded on its south side by Cape Gerhards , in the north the Mongi River flows into the bay.
The bay was discovered in 1886, the namesake is unknown.
