The Hanneloreneiche is a natural monument in the Zwickau district . It is located in the Limbach-Oberfrohna district of Limbach between the residential areas "Am Hohen Hain" and "Am Oesterholz". It belongs to the pedunculate oak and is one of the oldest trees in Germany .

Free peasants gathered under her to give counsel and judgment in earlier times. It probably owes its name to the noblewoman Johanne Elenora von Einsiedel, nee. from Nitzschwitz. The noblewoman lived from 1732 to 1742 on the manor Limbach and looked after the household of the manor Antonius III. von Schönberg after the death of his wife, her sister. The tree grew on the western edge of the Oesterholz and the proximity to the forest caused its crown to develop on one side. The forest was cleared at the beginning of the 19th century and the tree was released.

The age of the tree is estimated to be 400 years. Its trunk circumference is 5.24 meters with a trunk diameter of 1.67 meters. The Hanneloreneiche is 23.70 meters high. The diameter of its crown is about 18.60 meters.

In 1933, the oak is described as a tree whose top shoots are only poorly developed, combined with the onset of "baldness".

This leads to the assumption that the top shoots began to die off at that time. Today the entire upper treetop zone consists of dead wood. In addition to their treetop drought Hanne Loren oak shows plenty of dry wood in other parts of the crown. This undoubtedly contributes to the characteristic appearance of this tree.
