Hans-Gebhard Bethge

Hans-Gebhard Bethge (born May 23, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German Protestant theologian .

Life

After completing his doctorate ( From the Origin of the World. The fifth text from Nag Hammadi Codex II, newly published and declared under preferential evaluation of other Nag Hammadi texts ), Dr. theol. in Berlin and his habilitation in 1985 there, he taught from 1992 as a professor at the Humboldt University . In 2008 he retired.

His main research interests are Coptic-Gnostic writings (fragments of Coptic Bible texts).
