Hans-Heinrich Ottens

Hans-Heinrich Ottens (born May 20, 1924 in Celle ; † July 20, 2001 in Schwienau ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1986 to 1994 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Ottens attended the Lachendorf elementary school and then the middle school in Celle . He completed an agricultural apprenticeship and served as a soldier on the Eastern Front from October 1942 to May 1945 . He had been a member of the NSDAP since September 1, 1942 ( membership number 9,231,849). Until October 1949 he was then in Soviet captivity . After his return he continued his professional training. In 1952 he took over a farm in Linden. Ottens joined the CDU in 1968. From 1971 he was chairman of the CDU local association Ebstorf and from 1964 to 1972 councilor of the community of Linden. From 1972 Ottens was also mayor of the Schwienau community. On June 21, 1986, he entered the Lower Saxony state parliament, to which he belonged in the eleventh and twelfth electoral terms until June 20, 1994. From June 16 until he left the state parliament, he was chairman of the electoral review committee.

He received the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
