Schwienau is a municipality without an eponymous capital in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath in the district of Uelzen , Lower Saxony . The community of Schwienau belongs to the joint community of Bevensen-Ebstorf . It was named after the Schwienau, which flows through the community.

The community of Schwienau consists of the localities Linden, Melzingen, Stadorf and Wittenwater as well as the residential areas Immenhof and Verhorn.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1972, the communities of Linden, Melzingen, Stadorf and Wittenwater were incorporated.

coat of arms
The Schwienau coat of arms represents the four villages of Linden, Melzingen, Stadorf and Wittenwater. The linden leaf in the upper area stands for the place Linden, the stone in the lower part represents the sacrificial stone of Melzingen. The two areas are divided by the Schwienau river, in which there are two river pearls, which represent the villages of Stadorf and Wittenwater. River pearls actually occurred once in Schwienau.
