Bad Bodenteich is a stain in the Luneburg Heath in district Uelzen , Lower Saxony ( Germany ). The joint municipality of Bodenteich had its administrative headquarters there until it was dissolved on October 31, 2011. Since then, the community has been part of the Aue community with its seat in Wrestedt . This maintains a citizens' office in the former administration building.

Bad Bodenteich was a state-approved climatic health resort from 1973 to 2010 and has been offering Schroth cures as a Kneipp health resort since 1985 . Since October 1, 1998, the stain has had the addition of a bathroom . The Mediclin Seeparkklinik, a psychosomatic rehabilitation and acute clinic with a focus on eating disorders, is located on the Parksee.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1972, the communities Bomke, Flinten, Häcklingen, Schafwedel and Schostorf were incorporated.

Place name

Earlier place names of Bodenteich were Bodendieck, Bodendik, Bodendyk; Badendieck, Bodendike. The word "Boden", Middle High German "bōdem, bōden", Middle Low German "bōdem (e), boddem, bodden" and Middle Dutch "bōdem" ("Erdboden, Grund") had the subsidiary form "Bodem" until the 17th century. In the Low German dialects, “-d-” was only weakly articulated between vowels and often faded, leaving a slight twofold or a long spoken vowel. “Bodenteich” is “Boden-dik” in Low German and means “pond lying below, lake”.

The Evangelical Lutheran parish includes the St. Petri Church from 1836 (tower from 1894), as well as the St. Bartholomew Church in Lüder and the Christ Chapel in Soltendieck . The parish belongs to the south-east region of the parish of Uelzen in the district of Lüneburg .

The Catholic St. Bonifatius Church was built in 1960/61 and has been part of the parish of the Divine Redeemer in Uelzen since 2006 . Before that, there was already a storage shed on the site of a former ammunition factory , called “Bodenteich-Heide” from 1949, in a storage shed , also named after Boniface .

The New Apostolic congregation was given up in 2001 and joined the Wittingen congregation .
