The breaststroke specialist began her career at VfL Wittingen , but switched to SV Nikar Heidelberg for one season in 1972 to train under the former top swimmer Ursel Brunner . In the Nikar colors, the 14-year-old in Munich was the youngest active player to date in 1: 18.18 minutes to become German champion over 100 meters chest and thus qualified for the 1972 Olympic Games in the same place, where she won in 1: Eliminated for 18.80 minutes. Sierck then went back to her homeland and remained connected to swimming, but at SC Bodenteich , given insufficient opportunities on site, he only achieved national successes in the junior division and later as Dagmar Hilbig from 1986, then also in the Masters races (from 25 Years), where she even swam several age group world records. Dagmar Sierck died after a serious illness at the age of 57.
