Rätzlingen is a municipality in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath in the district of Uelzen , Lower Saxony . The community of Rätzlingen belongs to the integrated community of Rosche .
History, location, structure
The community was first mentioned in 1032 under the name Restinge .
The place is characterized by farms and part-time businesses. Rätzlingen as a church and school community has largely developed into a residential community. The Rätzlingen primary school was closed in the summer of 2014.
The municipality of Rätzlingen consists only of the village of Rätzlingen and is therefore one of the few municipalities in Lower Saxony that was not merged with other municipalities during the municipality reform in 1972.

Mayor is Harald Dammann (Voting Association Rätzlingen). The municipal council has appointed the mayor of the municipality, Herbert Rätzmann, as the municipality director.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Rätzlingen is in green, a single-towered silver church in front view, at the top flanked by a silver oak leaf placed slightly upwards and a silver cattail with two leaves that is also slightly upwards.
Community partnerships
There is a partnership with the district of Rätzlingen in the city of Oebisfelde-Weferlingen in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .
Culture
The parish includes the chapel communities Riestedt, Stöcken , Hanstedt II and the branch communities Rassau, Schliekau and Gansau. The chapel congregations were legally independent until the end of 2008 and have formed a joint church congregation since 2009. When the parish of Rätzlingen was founded cannot be precisely dated.

- Heinrich Schulze (1883–1977), groom, brickworker, local poet. The Dichter-Schulze-Strasse was named after him.
