Natendorf is a rural community in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath in the district of Uelzen , Lower Saxony . It belongs to the joint municipality of Bevensen-Ebstorf .
Geographical location
The municipality of Natendorf is located in the Hamburg metropolitan region between the Hanseatic cities of Lüneburg and Uelzen, around 25 km south of Lüneburg and around 20 km northwest of Uelzen .
The Natendorfer and Varendorfer Bach flow through the municipality.
Community structure
The community Natendorf consists of the localities Haarstorf, Hohenbünstorf, Luttmissen, Natendorf, Oldendorf II, Schier, Vinstedt and Wessenstedt as well as the residential areas Gut Golste, Heerweghof, Nienbüttel, Weinberghof and the splintered settlement of Fuchsberg.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1972, the communities of Haarstorf, Hohenbünstorf, Oldendorf II, Vinstedt and Wessenstedt were incorporated.

Religions
- The Evangelical Lutheran parish of Natendorf was merged on June 1, 2012 with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. George in Barum to form the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Barum-Natendorf in Barum.
- The Catholic faithful belong to the St. Josephs parish in Bad Bevensen.
Attractions
- The church of Natendorf shapes the townscape of Natendorf with the eye-catching roof dome of its west tower. The nave was built between 1789 and 1791 and a west tower was added in 1905. In 1991 the church was renovated, which means that it corresponds to the original plans. It contains an organ made by the organ builder Eduard Meyer from 1866, which was renovated in 2019.
