Magister Rother

Stephan Manfred Rother (artist names : Magister Rother , Stephan M. Rother and Benjamin Monferat ; born October 27, 1968 in Wittingen ) is a German historian , writer and comedian .

life and work

In 1988 Rother began studying Middle and Modern History , Art History and German Philology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , and in 1997 he graduated as a Magister Artium (MA) in the Department of Historical and Philological Sciences .

During his studies he worked as a freelancer in the regional press in East Lower Saxony. As a historian, he wrote various articles on regional historical topics. Since the mid-1990s, Rother has written a series of non-fiction articles for history and role-playing magazines such as Karfunkel , pax et gaudium , LARPZeit and Mystic & Entertainment .

From 1993 to 2008 Rother worked as a historical cabaret artist Magister Rother . He has been active as a writer since 2000. His greatest successes include the crime thriller around Hamburg investigators Jörg Albrecht and Hannah Friedrichs, as well as the title Welt in Flammen , published under the pseudonym Benjamin Monferat .

Rother is married and lives in Bad Bodenteich .
