Group of buildings of the old castle including hill, access dam, former moat, courtyard paving, Seehalsbeke and floodplain | Bodenteich Castle, a former moated castle, stands on an artificial hill. It is located north of the settlement center of Bad Bodenteich. During the Hildesheim collegiate feud , the castle was besieged and destroyed after the capture. Then the stone office building was built. The keep still exists as a ruin. The castle's brewery was built in 1734. The lowlands of the floodplain are north of the castle. |
