Hans-Hermann Schlicker

Hans-Hermann Schlicker (* 1928 in Kiel ) is a German graphic artist, painter and book illustrator.

Hans-Hermann Schlicker grew up in Leipzig . After his release from American captivity, he returned to his hometown at the end of 1946 and graduated from high school there. He then studied at the University of Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig . He later became a master student at the Academy of Arts in Berlin . He has been working as a freelance artist since 1956.

His works include numerous book illustrations, theater posters (including for the Deutsches Theater in Berlin ), press drawings, graphics and portraits as well as watercolors. He also illustrated individual volumes of the youth magazine series Das neue Abenteuer, popular in the GDR .

Many of his watercolors are inspired by long-distance travel, but also by theater scenes.

Since 1992 he has been drawing miniatures of Berlin buildings for Berlin newspapers and for book publications. Today he lives in Bad Pyrmont .
