Hans-Jürgen Berger

Hans-Jürgen Berger (born September 21, 1951 in Remscheid ) is a former German athlete who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

With 7.87 m he won the silver medal in the long jump at the European Indoor Championships in 1975 in Katowice, Poland.

In 1976 Berger became German long jump champion. In 1974, 1975 and 1979 he was second in the national indoor championships and 1974 German outdoor runner-up. His best performance was 8.00 m (1976 in Fürth). In total, Berger played 23 international matches .

Hans-Jürgen Berger belonged to TuS 04 Leverkusen and trained with Gerd Osenberg . During his competition time he was 1.82 m tall and weighed about 74 kg.
