Hans-Jürgen von Bornstedt
Hans-Jürgen von Bornstedt (born December 14, 1881 in Unruhstadt ; † 1962 ) was a German lawyer, civil servant and politician. Bornstedt was, among other things, a temporary speaker in the Reich Chancellery and a member of the executive committee of the German Democratic Party (DDP).
Life and activity
After attending school, Bornstedt studied law . After passing the first state examination in law, he completed his legal preparatory service as a trainee lawyer in 1906. He passed the Grand State Examination in 1910. Since 1912 Bornstedt was a temporary laborer in the service of the Prussian Ministry of Public Works . In 1914 Bornstedt moved to the Reich Chancellery, where he worked for almost nine years under eleven Reich Chancellors from Theobald von Bethmann Hollweg to Wilhelm Cuno . In 1916 he was given the rank of permanent laborer. In 1918 he was promoted to the government council, in 1920 to the secret government council and lecturing councilor and in 1921 to the ministerial councilor . In 1919 Bornstedt participated in the founding of the German Democratic Party (DDP), to whose main board he was elected. In October 1923 Bornstedt was put into temporary retirement at his own request. After the National Socialists came to power in 1933, he was given permanent retirement. In the same year he joined the German National People's Party (DNVP), which was forcibly dissolved shortly afterwards. In 1943 Bornstedt was a revoked civil servant at the Department for War Damage of the Mayor of Berlin.
