Hans-Joachim Vollrath

Hans-Joachim Vollrath (born November 24, 1934 in Berlin ) is a professor emeritus for didactics of mathematics .

Between 1954 and 1959 he studied mathematics, physics and geography for teaching at grammar schools at the Free University of Berlin. 1959 to 1961 pedagogical training at the Darmstadt study seminar, then until 1967 higher education service there. 1963 PhD rer. nat. at the TH Darmstadt with the dissertation "Basics of a theory of [omega] -metric spaces". 1967 to 1970 in university service in Darmstadt. In 1969 he completed his habilitation in mathematics at the TH Darmstadt.

In 1970, Hans-Joachim Vollrath was appointed full professor at the chair for didactics of mathematics at the PH Würzburg, in 1972 through the integration of the PH he became chair for didactics of mathematics at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , which he held until his retirement in 2000 .
