Hans-Peter Wotzka

Hans-Peter Wotzka (* 1958 ) is a German archaeologist .

Life

From 1977 to 1979 he studied prehistory, cuneiform and physical anthropology at the University of Hamburg , 1980 prehistory and early history, ancient oriental studies and physical anthropology at the University of Tübingen and from 1980 to 1981 Archaeological Method and Theory at the University of Southampton with Colin Renfrew ( Master of Arts degree ( Master thesis Schretzheim - some aspects of an early medieval cemetery and its community )). Since 2012 he has been teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of Cologne .

His main research interests are archeology in the equatorial rainforest of Central Africa, ethno-archeology, archaeological theory and methodology and archeology in northern Sudan, Chad, Burkina Faso.
