Hans Sahl Prize
The Hans Sahl Prize is an international literary prize that has been awarded by the Federal Republic of Germany's Circle of Authors - Forum for Literature and Politics - since 1995 . In the spirit of the eponymous emigrant Hans Sahl , writers who are politically independent and anti-totalitarian and liberal are to be honored for an overall work that “stands up for freedom of the word and sets itself apart from ideology”. The endowment is 10,000 euros. At the moment (as of 2018) the Federal Republic of Germany's circle of authors is looking for sponsors in order to be able to award the Hans Sahl Prize again.
