Hans-Werner Rengeling

Hans-Werner Rengeling (born February 25, 1938 in Essen ) is a German legal scholar with a focus on European law.

Life

After receiving his doctorate in 1971 at the University of Münster , he was a research assistant at the chair for spatial planning and public law in Münster , Werner Hoppe . After his habilitation in 1975 he became a professor at the University of Hamburg (Faculty of Law I) in 1977 , and in 1978 a professor at the University of Bonn . From 1981 he was Professor of European Public Law and Comparative Law at the University of Osnabrück , and from 1985 to 2003 director of the Institute for European Law at the University of Osnabrück.
