Hans Blossey (born May 16, 1952 in Essen - Kray ) is a German aerial photographer .

Life

Hans Blossey was born in Essen-Kray in 1952. Even as a schoolboy, he worked as a freelancer for well-known newspapers in the Ruhr area. This was followed by a photo traineeship at the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung in Essen and work as a photo editor in the entire Ruhr area. In 1991 he moved to the central editorial office of WAZ and worked for ten years as a photographer responsible for titles and reportage editing on national and international topics.

In 1983 he acquired a private pilot's license , which he later supplemented with various class and type ratings. Since 2009 he has been working as a freelance aerial photography photographer.

Over the decades, an extensive aerial photo archive of all cities in the Ruhr area and beyond was created. Updated regularly, it now has over 220,000 aerial photos. His aerial photographs are printed almost daily in national newspapers and can also be found in numerous book publications, company brochures, calendars and scientific works. Numerous aerial photo commissioned productions are carried out by Blossey u. a. to Hong Kong, Dubai, the Philippines, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Mauritius, India, New York and many European countries. He is also a guest lecturer at the Ruhr School of Journalism in the field of photojournalism.
