Hans Borlisch

Hans Borlisch (born August 18, 1909 in Danzig ; † September 16, 1979 ) was a German church musician and conductor.

Life

Hans Borlisch studied church musicians and Kapellmeister in Berlin and worked as an organist in Frankfurt / Oder. There he became Kapellmeister after the end of the Second World War and from 1950 moved to Neustrelitz, where he worked as a cantor and organist. There he became church music director in 1956 and held this position until 1975. Between 1958 and 1969 he was the chairman of the state association for Protestant church music in Mecklenburg.
As an editor, Hans Borlisch supported the promotion of church music, especially organ pieces for church use.
