The Hans Brantner & Sohn vehicle Gesellschaft mbH is an Austrian commercial vehicles and agricultural machinery manufacturer based in Laa an der Thaya in the northern wine district . With around 300 employees, around 50 million euros are converted.
The company developed from a forge and was founded in 1948 as a trailer manufacturer. It builds a wide variety of agricultural trailers, especially dump trucks.
The company is the largest manufacturer of tipping trailers for agriculture in Western Europe. In Austria the market share is around 65%.
history
The company developed from a forge. In 1954 the first mechanical tippers were built, which were replaced by hydraulic tippers in 1958. In 1969, the workshops in the city center were partially abandoned and a production site was built on the outskirts of the city. Ten years later, Hallenbaugesellschaft mbH was founded as a further line of business. In the hall construction division , steel construction projects for agriculture and trade are handled. In 1982 Hans Brantner junior took over the role of managing director.
Hans Brantner took over the management from his father at the end of 2015. The first laser cutting machine was subsequently purchased. Brantner now has a 2-D laser cutting center, a 3-D pipe laser system, welding systems with 6-axis articulated arm robots, a welding robot cell for manufacturing small parts, plasma cutting systems, CNC press brakes and a film welding machine.
In 2010, the company said it installed what was then the world's largest corrosion protection system.
In addition to vehicle construction, the company is also active in the car trade as well as in hall and metal construction.
Products
With over 125,000 trailers produced, Brantner has developed into one of the largest agricultural tipper manufacturers in Europe. In 2018, the spreading technology division of the Austrian manufacturer Kirchner was taken over.
In addition to tipping trailers in various configurations up to a total weight of 24 t, the product portfolio also includes platform trucks and gritting vehicles.
