Hans Cromberger
Hans Cromberger (also Juan , Johann ; † September 1540 ) founded the first printing company in America.
His father was Jakob Cromberger († 1528), a printer in Seville .
He received an exclusive license to print and distribute books in the city.
With the first bishop of Mexico Juan de Zumárraga and the first vice-king of New Spain, Antonio de Mendoza , he negotiated a contract for ten years of exclusivity in printing and importing books in America. He sent his employee, Giovanni Paoli (Spanish: Juan Pablos ) from Italy with a printing press, paper, Gothic letters and material for the production of ink to Mexico, who opened the printer's workshop Casa de Juan Cromberger there in April 1540 .
