Only beautiful people are allowed in, but stupid, hunchbacked Hans Dumm pushes his way through and becomes her husband. The king puts them both in a barrel at sea. She accuses Hans Dumm, but he says she had the child because he wanted it. He wants food, then a beautiful ship, and ashore a castle and himself as a beautiful prince. You live happily. Once the king comes to visit. He doesn't recognize her. When he leaves, the princess has a gold mug smuggled into his luggage and arrested for theft. When he justifies himself, she teaches him that nobody should be held guilty right away. Everyone is happy, and Hans Dumm later becomes king.

origin

According to Grimm's note, the magical tale comes from the Hassenpflug siblings . The note refers to Basiles Pentameron I, 3 Peruonto and in Straparola III, 1 Pietro pazzo . Probably because of this similarity, it was replaced from the 2nd edition by Der Satchel, Hütlein and Hörnlein .
