Hans Georg Kirchhoff

Hans Georg Kirchhoff (born June 7, 1930 in Rommerskirchen ) is a German historian and history teacher . He was a professor of history and its didactics, first at the Ruhr University of Education and then at the Technical University of Dortmund . One of his main research areas is the history of the country .

Life

Kirchhoff studied history and German at the University of Cologne , where he received his doctorate in 1955 with the thesis "On the German-language document of the thirteenth century". After a few years at university, he became a professor for regional history and didactics at the University of Dortmund in 1966, where he also worked until his retirement . From 1975 to 1979 and again from 1983 to 1985 Kirchhoff was chairman of the conference for historical didactics .

A tribute and a portrait can be found in the volume “From the Middle Ages and Modern Times” (1995), which was published on the occasion of his 65th birthday. In 2006 he published in the series "contributions to the history of the city of Grevenbroich" by him in collaboration with the archaeologists Jost Auler wrote local history Greven Broich .
