Hans Hamm (doctor)
Hans Hamm (born February 27, 1922, † February 8, 2008 presumably Hamburg) was a German general practitioner and university professor.
He was the founder of general medicine at the University Medical Center of the University of Hamburg .
He was the son of a general practitioner and studied medicine at the University of Hamburg, specializing as an internist . After taking over his father's practice in 1955, he felt that his training was insufficient for the needs of the patients. As a result, he campaigned for the introduction of general medicine.
In 1970/71, the German Medical Association passed the four-year training regulations for general practitioners and Hamm was appointed the first lecturer in general medicine at the Hamburg-Eppendorf University Clinic.
He was also involved in professional political organizations and in the preparation of scientific congresses.
His textbook general medicine has appeared in several editions since 1975.
family
His sons Christian Wilhelm and Johann Hinrich are also physicians and university professors, the son Hans Martin are veterinarians.
