from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Kolb was a German hymn poet . He lived in the 16th century. The adaptation of Psalm 23 is known from him , which was first printed in a Nuremberg hymn book from 1569. The poet's name appears in the last verse. The song was probably published as a single print before. The literary historian Karl Friedrich Ludwig Goedeke states that Kolb came from Steinbach , while Philipp Wackernagel had published a document from 1528 in which a Hans Kolb von Gemündt was mentioned. But nothing more is known about Kolb.
