Hans Münkner

Hans-Hermann Münkner (born April 6, 1935 in Pomerania ) is a German lawyer , professor , author and editor . From 1972 to 2000 he was professor of domestic and foreign corporate law and cooperative teaching at the Philipps University of Marburg and is considered one of the world's leading cooperative researchers .

Life

Münkner studied law in Marburg, Mainz and at the Free University of Berlin and passed the first state examination in 1961. From 1962 to 1963 he qualified as a cooperative advisor for developing countries in a training program run by the cooperative associations and the federal government . From 1964 he worked as an assistant at the Institute for Cooperatives in Developing Countries at the Philipps University in Marburg and since then has been entrusted as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science with the legal training of cooperative economists from African countries.

In 1971 he received his doctorate with the dissertation on "The organization of the registered cooperative in the countries of Black Africa belonging to the English legal system, illustrated using the example of Ghana ". Since then he has been considered an expert on African cooperative law. In 1972 Münkner was appointed professor in the economics department of Philipps University. In his research he dealt with corporate and land law in developing countries, particularly in cooperative law. Since his retirement in 2000, he has continued to observe and comment on international cooperative developments.
