Hans Nussdorf

Hans Nussdorf (also written Hans von Nußdorf ) (* around 1420; † 1503 in Basel ) was a late Gothic builder from Basel. He built the upper floors of the so-called Martinsturm, the south tower of Basel Minster , from 1488–1500 . In 1477/78 he was named construction manager ("Director Operis") of the minster. In 1479 he bought into the spinning weather guild in Basel. From 1496 he worked at the nave of the Leonhardskirche in Basel. To what extent he was also responsible for the design and execution of the pulpit of the Basel Minster is uncertain. He had two sons, Hans and Friedrich. It is possibly identical to a "Hans von Konstanz" who has appeared in the Basel cathedral accounts since the 1450s.
