Hans Wendt (entrepreneur)

Hans Wendt (born October 9, 1930 - September 10, 2008 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

On October 9, 1930 the twins Hans and Sigrid Wendt were born as children of Olly and Johannes Wendt. Hans Wendt, nephew of the company founder Grete Wendt , joined the Erzgebirge angel manufactory Wendt & Kühn on November 1st, 1954 and shortly afterwards took over the management of the Grünhainichen production facilities . After the forced nationalization of the company and renaming to VEB Werk-Kunst Grünhainichen , he remained operations director. After the reprivatisation of Wendt & Kühn KG on July 1, 1990, Wendt became a managing general partner. In 2001, Wendt handed over the management of the family business to his son Tobias.

Wendt was a founding and honorary member of the Association of Erzgebirge Craftsmen and Toy Manufacturers and played a key role in shaping the arts and crafts in the region. In 2002 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit with ribbon for his entrepreneurial work .
