Hans Werner Ingensiep

Hans Werner Ingensiep (* 1953 ) is a German author , philosopher and editor of scientific literature. He is a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen . His main focus is on topics from the fields of bioethics , natural philosophy and anthropology .

Life

Ingensiep studied at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and received his doctorate there in 1983 on the effects of phytohormones . Between 1983 and 1986 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Genetics at the University of Bonn, later he moved to the Science Center North Rhine-Westphalia in Essen , where he worked from 1990 to 1996. In 1995 he completed his habilitation and was authorized to teach philosophy and the history of science . Finally, in 2003, he became an adjunct professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Ingensiep deals with various aspects of natural philosophy in his work. He pays particular attention to bioethics, for example in connection with human nutrition. Ingensiep deals with the cultural perception of apes and the human-ape ratio, particularly its importance in philosophy. In addition, Ingensiep has dealt with the work of Immanuel Kant in relation to natural philosophy topics.
