Hans Wilhelm Kürmann

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Wilhelm Kürmann (* around 1590 in Bebenhausen ; † unknown) was a painter from Württemberg .

Life

Hans Wilhelm Kürmann was a son of the administrator of the Bebenhausen monastery . After his apprenticeship, he worked as a painter's journeyman in Tübingen from 1606 . Since he wanted to settle in Tübingen, he submitted an application for academic citizenship in 1612. His request was rejected. Although the reason was not given, it can be assumed that it was the same reason that was given two years later when Tobias Spingler's application was rejected : It was said that six painters were already working in Tübingen. Kürmann must soon have left not only Tübingen but also Württemberg, as his name no longer appears in Württemberg documents.
