history

The Hansa Realschule was founded in Soest in 1951 as a subtenant in what was then the high school on Hohen Weg. Heinrich Jühe was entrusted with the management of the municipal secondary school for boys and girls , who was appointed rector on April 1, 1953. In 1962, the city of Soest placed the planning order for the construction of the new Hansa secondary school with KH Beyerling. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in 1963. After a two-year construction period, the school was able to move into the new building on October 15, 1965. At that time, the students were separated according to gender , so there is also an east and a west section.

As more and more students attended the school in 1968, the city council decided to divide the school into Realschule I and Realschule II . At the time of this division, 986 students attended 25 classes with 33 teachers. When the building became too small for both secondary schools in 1976, secondary school II moved to the building of the former girls' high school on Paradieser Weg. On October 28, 1978 Realschule II was given the name: Christian-Rohlfs-Realschule , which it still bears today. One year later, in 1979, Realschule I was given the name Hansa-Realschule and since then has had the symbol of a Hanse cog .

For the 1981/1982 year, five entry classes were included for the first time. That fifty-fifty-fifty-one still exists today. Be named the five classes of A to E . In 1992 the kitchen was brought up to date. In the years from 1999 to 2001 the entire window front and the doors were renewed. In addition, the auditorium received a new facade . The chemistry room was rebuilt in 2001 and thus complied with the latest safety regulations. In the same year the school celebrated its 50th anniversary. On May 11, 2001, a celebration took place in the town hall. From September 17 to September 21, 2001, a project week on the motto "Water in Life, Life in Water" was held with great success on the same occasion. An alumni meeting with the presentation of the projects and an entertaining program rounded off the week. In 2002, shading was installed on the windows on the south side to prevent the sunlight from penetrating too much into the classrooms. In 2004 the physics room was renovated and the biology room was given a new facility. The sports hall was also completely renovated. The sports hall was inaugurated on September 24, 2004. In February 2005 the school won the soccer tournament for the Hanse Pokal. Just a few days later, Anne Frank's Diary was performed for grade 8.

The school announced the closure on June 26, 2020 on its website.
