Potato plants Hansa

Hansa is a medium-early, waxy table potato that was first registered in Germany in 1957. It was bred by the company Vereinigte Saatzuchten Ebstorf (VSE) - Rosche eG in Ebstorf

It forms oval tubers with smooth and yellow skin and yellow flesh color. Their eye depth is shallow, Hansa can be stored well due to its low sensitivity to damage.

Hansa has high demands on soil, moisture and nutrient supply. With good cultivation technology, the variety brings top yields with very even tuber sizes. Because of the long dormancy, pre- germination is useful. Hansa is suitable for the production of dried potatoes and French fries .

The variety has a high resistance to black spot , potato scab, tuber rot, Rhizoctonia , Erwinia black-leggedness and the potato virus A. It is susceptible to late blight , potato canker, leaf roll virus , potato virus X and potato nematodes .

The Charlotte variety was the result of the cross between Hansa x Danae, the Juliette variety is a cross between Hansa x Nicola .
