Business area

In the fund administration of liquid and illiquid asset classes, the capital management company, as a service KVG, offers its services in the creation and administration of real estate and securities funds to external asset managers and initiators. With the introduction of the Capital Investment Code (KAGB) in spring 2014, it expanded its range of services to include the management of closed-end funds.

history

In 1969, IDUNA Leben opened a new line of business in the field of financial services and founded Hansainvest together with Vereinsbank Hamburg . The main motive was the profound changes in the German investment market. The inflow of funds from German and foreign investment funds has shown growth rates since 1967 that were far above those in the life insurance business. New offers such as savings plans, additional accounts and withdrawal plans came onto the market, sometimes combined with risk insurance. The founders wanted to participate in the growing investment market. Hansainvest has been a 100% subsidiary of the SIGNAL IDUNA Group since 1991.

The fund offering initially focused on the bond markets , followed by HANSAimmobilia in January 1988 in the open-ended real estate fund market . In the 1990s, the range was expanded to include European stocks and bonds (1992), a money market fund (1994), a pension fund (1998) and a fund of funds (1999). In 2002 Hansainvest took over all real estate activities of the SIGNAL IDUNA Group. In the same year, the company first appeared as a service KVG and has been administering funds for third parties ever since. In 2004 the first German fund of hedge fund was launched, followed by the launch of a real estate fund as the first German service KVG. Further innovations were the launch of the first German gold fund (2009) and the first German microfinance fund (2011).

Since 2014, Hansainvest has also been allowed to administer closed-ended investment fund assets as a service KVG. Also in 2014, the Real Assets area was expanded to include investments in a wide variety of infrastructure projects.

Awards

In 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018, the private banker named Hansainvest the “Best Service KVG” in Germany. In the magazine's regular survey of asset managers, Hansainvest came in first.
