Hansen Rum
Hansen Rum was a traditional Flensburg rum trading house that was founded in early 1869 by the wine merchant Hans Hansen. After the decline of the Flensburg rum houses, the Hansen Rum brand was sold together with Bommerlunder to the spirits company Berentzen from Haselünne in the early 2000s .
history
The rum trading house Hansen from Flensburg specialized in the production of Flensburg rum blends . For this purpose, Jamaican rum was blended with water and agar alcohol to a drinking strength of 40 to 54vol%. Hansen rum was best known for its Hansen President , a rum blend with 42vol%, named after the then Reich President Hindenburg . From 1909 to the end of the 1950s, the company headquarters in Flensburg was on Angelburger Strasse . In the 1990s, Hansen was bought up by Dethleffsen, one of the largest spirits distributors in Germany at the time. At the turn of the year 1998/99, the Berentzen Group AG again took over Dethleffsen. In addition to Hansen Rum, the brands Bommerlunder, Line Aquavit , Asmussen Rum , Springer Urvater, Echt Stonsdorfer , Licor 43 and Dirty Harry were also bought by Berentzen.
