Hansi Bächtold

Hansi Bächtold (born August 21, 1956 ) is a former Swiss motorcycle racer and four-time sidecarcross world champion . Bächtold was the official works driver of the Dutch off-road machine and sidecar manufacturer EML .

At the age of just 20, the trained auto mechanic Hansi Bächtold won his first national title in the Swiss championship in 1977 together with Stefan Kiser, who served him as a co-driver until the end of 1978. Together with his co-driver Fritz Fuß, he also won the championship in the Swiss National Sidecarcross Championship in 1984, 1986 and 1987 . He drove a total of 167 races in his career, of which he won 42. Hansi Bächtold made his debut in the Swiss championship in 1977 and ended his racing career in the Sidecarcross World Championship after the 1987 season for professional reasons.
