Hao (unit)

Hao was a measure of volume in the Cochinchina region , what is now southern Vietnam and some eastern regions of Cambodia . The measure was a measure of grain , especially for rice . According to this measure, the soldiers were entitled to a subsistence level of rice for a month by the will of the king.

  • 1 Hao = 28 liters (about 7/9 bushels )
  • 1 Shita / Shita = 2 Hao = 56 liters = 1 Tao (by weight)
