Harald Pohlmann (born July 19, 1955 in Neuhaus , Paderborn district ) is a German CDU politician .

Life

education and profession

Harald Pohlmann graduated from high school in 1974. From 1974 to 1975 and from 1976 to 1981 he studied history, sociology and philosophy at the University of Bielefeld, from 1975 to 1976 at the University of Cologne and from 1981 to 1984 at the University of Hamburg. In 1981 he obtained a master's degree in history. In 1984 he received his doctorate. phil. To finance his studies, he opened a retail store for boats and water sports accessories in 1976. In 1983, Pohlmann began building an amusement park, the Schieder Leisure Center with retail, catering, boat rentals and rides. Furthermore, since 2009 he has been the owner of the driving school and the training center Zöllner, the largest driving school in northern Germany with 80 employees.

Harald Pohlmann has been a member of the CDU since 1991. His political mandates began in 1993 as chairman of the Lemgo municipal association of the CDU and a member of the CDU Lippe district board. Since 1998 he has been the district chairman of the CDU's association of medium-sized companies in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Since 1997 he has also been the deputy chairman of the SME Association in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1998, Pohlmann became district chairman of the CDU Ostwestfalen-Lippe Association of SMEs. From 1994 he became a member of the Lippe district council. He has been a member of the Lemgo City Council since 1999 and has been parliamentary group leader since 2009.

Harald Pohlmann moved up to the 12th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia on August 1, 1998 .

Private

Pohlmann is Evangelical Reformed , was married to Karin Pohlmann and has two sons. In his spare time he sails and goes skiing.
