Harald Weiss (politician)

Harald Weiss is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 2002 to 2012 he was mayor of the free town of Rust on Lake Neusiedl .

On June 13, 2000, he was elected Vice Mayor of the city by the local councils. In 2002 he was elected mayor with 52.48 percent of the votes, against Heribert Artinger, who has been in office for 33 years, and was confirmed in this office in 2008 with 57.74 percent of the votes.

His successor as Mayor of Rust is the SPÖ politician Gerold Stagl.

Weiss is honorary president of the Rust tennis club. He is also chairman of the cleanliness association for the Neusiedler See region - west bank .
